Skills for writers at Guardian Hay Festival

On Friday 29 May, Creative & Cultural Skills will play host to a range of authors and critics at the Guardian Hay Festival to start a dialogue about the future skills needs of the creative writing industry. Calling all who work with words, the sessions will focus on digitisation, the future of creative writing courses, and, crucially, how to make a living from writing.

Scotland campaign delivers Creative Apprenticeships

23 March 2009

After a long campaign, led by Creative & Cultural Skills, Scottish employers have welcomed the announcement of funding for 50 Creative Apprenticeships in theatre, music, arts and cultural heritage. The Creative Apprenticeship will produce skilled theatre and live music technicians and help address a shortage of 1000 technicians predicted in Scotland by 2012.
