£1,500 incentive for employers to take on apprentices extended

The National Apprenticeship Service has announced that it is extending its £1,500 incentive scheme to encourage employers to take on apprentices, which should be of considerable benefit to the creative and cultural industries.

Previously only available for employers taking apprentices on for the first time, it is now eligible for employers who have not employed an apprentice in the last 12 months. It is also now available for organisations employing up to 1,000 people.

Creative & Cultural Skills urges creative businesses and organisations to take up this offer, which will be distributed by the National Apprenticeship Service on a first come, first served basis.

The incentive is called the Apprenticeship Grant for Employers of 16 to 24 year olds and further information can be found on the National Apprenticeship Service website.
