Based near Belfast, Gemma works with organisations in the creative industries across Northern Ireland, delivering projects to support skills development and create pathways for engagement in the sector.

Gemma draws upon her knowledge of skills development from the Higher Education context, where she worked as a Lecturer in the School of Creative and Cultural Business at Robert Gordon University, gaining extensive experience in working with young people. In her roles as a Researcher, Gemma also helped deliver outreach and knowledge exchange projects funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the European Social Fund and the European Regional Development Fund.

Gemma holds a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College Dublin and a PhD from Robert Gordon University and has co-authored articles in publications such as the International Journal of Education through Art; the International Journal of Art and Design Education and Participations: Journal of Audience and Reception Studies. Outside work, Gemma enjoys visiting cultural attractions at home and further afield.
