What do you do?

I'm a live music promoter, producer and project manager.

What previous jobs have you done?  

I've worked as a musician and as an artist manager.

What do you do at work? 

I organise promotion and sort out contracts.

I talk to artists and music venues, write funding applications, answer lots of emails, think of new projects to create, and drink tea!

What’s the best thing about your job? 

Being able to support live music.

And the worst thing about the job? 

Now and again there are unsociable hours. 

How can I get into music?

Be nice to everyone. Here are my five tips for succeeding in my specific line of work: 

  1. Network – a lot.
  2. Organise some events and take some risks.
  3. Never give up.
  4. Work in partnership with others.
  5. Be organised.
