Abi Horsfield, transitions outreach manager
Abi has over 25 years’ experience of theatre facilitation and her work with Collective Encounters sees her delivering workshops to those who have experienced homelessness, addiction and/or mental health problems. In 2017 she was jointly awarded the Creative Choices Award for promoting fair access to the creative industries.

Amy Backwell, industry liaison intern
Amy is the industry liaison intern for the Animation Subject Area at Arts University Bournemouth. Her employers have said that it’s difficult to see a category where she has not made an impact! For her hard work, Amy was awarded Intern of the Year at the 2017 Creative & Cultural Skills Awards.

Emma Morsi, digital marketing apprentice
Emma joined Saffron Records, an all-female record label, as their digital marketing apprentice and helped them grow their website traffic and social media engagement. She now works for them as a freelance design consultant and also produces her own digital arts, fashion and music magazine. In 2017, she was awarded Apprentice of the Year at the Creative & Cultural Skills Awards.

Sheree Vickers, artistic director
Sheree works for Savvy Theatre Company, actively promoting inclusion and diversity in the arts and creating community-based theatre projects that can involve everyone. To recognise her work, Sheree was jointly awarded the 2017 Creative Choices Award.

RSA Student Design Awards team
The RSA Student Design Awards have been running for 93 years, helping young designers develop their skills and gain employment. In 2017 the team behind the programme were awarded the Creative & Cultural Skills Design Skills Award.

April Skipp, marketing and development intern
April joined Yorkshire Dance as their Marketing and Development Intern. She made such an impression on them that within a year, they had created a new position in the organisation for her and she is now the Marketing Officer. In 2016 she won the Creative & Cultural Skills Intern of the Year Award.

Jack Homer, technical arts student
As a student at South Essex College, Jack developed a passion for technical development and helping his fellow students. He is a shining example of how much a young person can achieve if supported and empowered and in 2016 was the winner of the Creative Choices Award.

Jo Davies, production coordinator
Jo Davies became interested in the backstage aspect of the theatre when she was a small child from watching pantomimes with her dad and brother. She explains her career journey, her role as production coordinator for Wales Millennium Centre and offers tips for getting into theatre. Jo won the Theatre Skills Award 2016 alongside Martin Hunt.

Morna Cook, Universal Music HR director
Senior director of HR for Universal Music, Morna played a key role in their groundbreaking paid internship scheme. For her outstanding commitment to passing on and developing creative skills, she was awarded the Music Skills Award 2015.

Jade Poole, intern producer
Jade started out with Exim Dance Company on a paid internship as a producer, but within a year she was promoted all the way up to general manager. In 2015 she won the Creative & Cultural Skills Intern of the Year Award.

Alan Jones, traditional thatcher
Alan is a traditional thatcher and teacher. He won a Craft Skills Award in 2015, with judges celebrating, "his teaching and demonstrations all over the UK are an inspiration to many young people".

Chris Hunt, founder of Scotland Re:Designed
As well as founding Scotland’s first design collective, Chris Hunt works behind-the-scenes across the Scottish design sector. In 2015 he was awarded a Design Skills Award by Creative & Cultural Skills.

Laurie Lambeth, dry stone waller
Laurie Lambeth is a dry stone waller for Lambeth Stonework. He was chosen as the winner of the Cultural Heritage Skills Award, as part of the the Creative & Cultural Skills Awards 2015.
