Lewis Marsh, Graphic Design & Marketing Executive

Lewis is the Head of Studio at SharpFutures, a social enterprise, where he manages and creates graphics which are used for print or online. He started off as a graphic design apprentice and in 2018 was awarded Apprentice of the Year at the Creative & Cultural Skills Awards.


Sarah Holden, graphic design assistant

After graduating with a degree in illustration, Sarah Holden decided to focus more on design. She now works as a graphic design assistant and also a print maker, putting on collaborative exhibitions. She explained her role and how to get into design.

Costume designer Mona Kastell specialises in costume for street arts and circus companies.


Miri Birch, costume supervisor

Miri Birch studied design for the stage at the Central School of Speech and Drama. She has now overseen the costuming of shows for a number of theatre companies.


Steve Bamford, artist and scenic constructor

Steve builds and often designs scenery for theatre, film and television production companies. He has worked on films such as City of Ember and HBO’s Game of Thrones.

Graham Gilhooly, Senior Designer

Graham Gilhooly is a Senior Designer for 20/20 Productions. He started off by studying graphic design at college and loves having the opportunity to be creative every day.

Joe Parker, Photographer and Social Media Administrator

Joe always saw photography as a hobby, but gradually he found opportunities for it to become his career. Since completing an apprenticeship with Out of Hand, Joe has started working for Garment Quarter, creating the images for their website and social media accounts.


Admir adds light fittings to digital designs, and oversees implementation once construction is finished.

Admir works for lighting design company Mindseye. He works with architects and interior designers to enhance interior spaces with light.

Lucie drew on years of experience in publications, marketing and design to launch her own agency. She works solely with charities, doing branding, campaigns and merchandise for print and online.


Vicky Grubb, upholsterer

Vicky's love of upholstery began with night classes at her local college. She now runs her own studio, teaching upholstery classes and taking commissions for work. Vicky outlines her career journey and how you can get into upholstery.


Karen Collier, fashion recruitment consultant

Karen started out working in a clothing factory, training to be a sample machinist. She then worked her way up within the fashion industry until she was running her own recruitment business. Karen explains her career journey and offers tips for getting into fashion recruitment.

Lottie helps create, design and develop online courses for both institutional and international learners. She explains how her experience working with design helped secure her apprenticeship and talks about what the role involves.

Simon Parr, graphic designer

Simon is Head of Design on the comic 2000AD and at Rebellion Publishing, who also publish sci-fi/horror fiction.
