Am I qualified to go into curating?

Shelley would like to know if she has the right skills.

I have two BA degrees in English and Film, and an MA in Victorian Studies. I am also a qualified and experienced teacher.

I am keen to leave teaching and move into the area of curating but am unsure how best to achieve this. I have a family and therefore cannot afford to do a large amount of unpaid voluntary work.

I have considered doing an MA in Museum Cultures but I’m not sure whether the expense would be worth it.

Would my academic background be considered a good basis for a move into this career?

Thanks.
