AIM Awards Assessment Research

Date: 16 July 2018 — 31 December 2018

Funded by the Education and Training Foundation, AIM Awards Assessment has been awarded a research grant to consider effective preparation and delivery of the End Point Assessment of the new Apprenticeship Standards in the creative and cultural industries.  They are looking for employers, providers and apprentices, to take part in this qualitative research.

As the first end point assessments have recently taken place for a range of Standards, how are others are being prepared for, how are stakeholders approaching them? What are the opportunities and challenges? What is the employer impression of End Point Assessment in practice? How can the experience of End Point Assessment in practice inform the writing of future Standards and Assessment Plans? What is the Apprentice experience of End Point Assessment? How do we define 'Outstanding Assessment’?

The results of research will form a series of ‘honest’ case studies to share as new knowledge and best practice for all practitioners.  It is one of 10 collaborative projects commissioned to investigate the fundamental shift in teaching, learning and assessment of new Apprenticeship Standards.

The final set of practical and research outputs will be pulled together into an overarching Practitioner Toolkit by the Strategic Development Network (SDN) in early 2019, supported by a series of practice-sharing webinars.
