COMPASS: Tailored Support for Established Makers
COMPASS: Established Maker Programme offers tailored one to one support to established makers
COMPASS: Established Maker Programme is open to professional makers who are looking to develop themselves and/or their practice.
An established maker would ideally be someone who has been practicing for four or more years. Applicants must demonstrate a clear commitment to developing their craft practice.
Do you feel in need of challenge or momentum, or you are not sure how to move forwards with a particular aspect of your practice? If so, then this programme might be for you.
COMPASS is Craft Scotland’s brand-new learning and development programme created specifically for makers. Compass is generously supported by the William Grant Foundation and Creative Scotland.
You can apply for up to £1,200 (including VAT) towards the cost of your learning and development activity.
Please note that we would like successful applicants to make a small financial contribution towards the learning and development activity and so we are not able to fund the entire costs.
There are two deadlines each year as follows:
Deadline 1: 5pm, Thursday 20 June 2019
Applications open in April and will be open for approximately eight weeks. All applications received during this time will be assessed by a panel after the deadline for submissions has passed.
All applicants will be notified regarding the outcome of their application by Friday 19 July 2019.
Deadline 2: 5pm, Thursday 21 November 2019
Applications open in September and will be open for approximately eight weeks. All applications received during this time will be assessed by a panel after the deadline for submissions has passed.
All applicants will be notified regarding the outcome of their application by Friday 20 December 2019.
Please ensure that you send your application to us in plenty of time before you hope to start your learning and development activity. The learning and development activity that you are applying for should not start before:
For deadline 1: Friday 19 July 2019
For deadline 2: Friday 20 December 2019
In exceptional circumstances we may be able to agree funding out with the deadlines outlined. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss.
