Contemporary Performance Adult Summer School
This course provides a supportive environment where any level of ability can learn.
This unique five-day summer school will provide an inspiring, supportive and challenging environment in which all students, from beginners to advanced, can explore and learn.
Led by teaching staff from the BA Contemporary Performance Practice degree programme at the Royal Conservatoire, you will create original performance which strives to better understand the world in which we live.
Using personal experiences and stories, or research into an idea or issue of interest to participants, this course offers aspiring performers an opportunity to develop their skills as innovative and socially engaged theatre-makers.
This summer school is for anyone aged 16+ who is interested in developing skills in devising and contemporary performance. It may also be of interest for those considering studying on the BA Contemporary Performance Practice course in the future.
By the end of the course, you will have:
been introduced to a range of techniques useful to the devising process
developed an appreciation of the creative process and its relationship to a final product
explored key aspects of contemporary devising processes such as the use of text, movement and the ensemble
had an opportunity to develop personal creative ideas within a collaborative process
