Drama Summer School for ages 8 – 11
The course will offer a fun, stimulating and challenging experience for all.
This week-long summer school for children aged 8-11 uses structured drama activities to explore the characters, settings and themes of a popular children’s story, immersing participants in the fiction as it unfolds in the room.
Led by experienced teaching artists, the young people will use their own thoughts and ideas to create an original performance.
The course will offer a fun, stimulating and challenging experience for all regardless of previous experience.
Throughout the course participants will:
Increase personal confidence and creative decision making skills
Develop performance skills including voice and movement
Have the opportunity to try out their own ideas in a creative environment
Taken part in a rehearsal process
Throughout the week, the young people will work towards a short, informal performance for family and friends which takes place in one of the Royal Conservatoire’s venues on the last afternoon of the course.
