Makers, have you ever wanted to run a community workshop or take part in a longer-term local engagement project? This Craft Scotland event will provide you with an introduction to the necessary skills, approaches and experience to work with hard-to-reach audiences.

You will hear from professionals who are working with schools and adults with mental health or additional support needs and gain an insight into how artists and makers have worked within local community settings. It will guide you through engaging participants in projects and how to encourage learning through making.

The speakers are Kevin Harrison, Director at Artlink Central, Stefanie Cheong, jeweller and Craft Development Officer at Fife Contemporaryand Debi Banerjee, Curator for Learning at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop. You will hear first-hand how organisations organise their programmes, select makers and how they achieve results for their community.

This event will give you the opportunity to meet and share knowledge with fellow makers and community project specialists.
