Interviewer Volunteer – support veteran Military Musicians project
Film, music and military enthusiasts needed as Legasee Educational Trust combines forces with the Museum of Army Music at Kneller Hall.
Legasee has a number of rewarding roles for volunteers in the following areas: research, social media, filming veterans (interviewing or technical operation) and video editing. There are opportunities to become involved with the museum archives, meet veteran military musicians and work on resources for young learners. Join our small friendly team for an exciting volunteering opportunity.
About the Interviewer Volunteer role:
Working from the Museum of Army Music at Kneller Hall, Twickenham, and at agreed hours to suit you, we would like a small team who will carry out video interviews (off-camera) with veteran military musicians. No technical expertise needed, as the camera operator and equipment will be provided, but you will need to have proven experience in the field of interviewing. You will prepare questions based on research on the history of specific individual veterans and their experiences, work collaboratively with Camera Operator to arrange recording dates and achieve success on the day, working with veteran interviewees, putting them at ease to obtain the best results. Pre-agreed expenses will be met.
Legasee Educational Trust (reg. charity no. 1145354) is a charity set up to record the experiences and observations of all veterans of conflict from WWII until present day ‘to create the largest online film archive of this aspect of our social history that can be used for education, learning and better understanding for today’s generation and many generations to come’. Legasee’s film archive is well regarded and used to support educational projects, museums, media and publications in the UK and Europe.
