Introduction to BSL (block 1)

This interesting course is for complete beginners or people who wish to refresh their British Sign Language skills.

Through practical exercises and class discussions, you will have the opportunity to practice what you have learnt. The course will cover topics such as how to introduce yourself, discuss your hobbies and interests – with the aim that participants will be able to hold a basic conversation and have fun learning along the way.

Led by BA Performance in British Sign Language and English lecturer, Rita McDade, participants will also learn how BSL is different to English grammar and will gain an insight to the structure of BSL, the culture and etiquette.

This course runs twice throughout the year:

Block 1: 15 January – 19 March 2019

Block 2: 16 April – 18 June 2019

Time: Tuesdays, 6 - 7pm
