Introduction to Choreography

We aim to introduce a variety of choreographic methodologies and techniques

During this workshop, you will participate in a range of exercises and activities which will allow you to explore the devices and techniques employed in choreography. You will work to develop a range of sequences in different styles for solos, duets and ensembles.

The course aims to introduce a variety of methodologies and techniques which can be used to choreograph dance. Students will also have the opportunity to work with a small group of dancers in order to put their skills into practice.

By the end of this intensive short course, students will have been:

been introduced to a range of choreography methodologies and techniques

developed a more critical eye when looking atand discussing dance and performance

explored key aspects of putting together a piece of dance performance

had the opportunity to develop personal creative ideas with a small group of dancers
