REcreative Film School 2019
The SLG is seeking enthusiastic young filmmakers
The SLG is seeking enthusiastic young filmmakers to join the REcreative Film School 2019 led by Saeed Taji Farouky, Director and Paul Crook, Young People’s Programme Manager, South London Gallery. The film school takes place at the South London Gallery across five sessions and is aimed at those who would like to explore creative filmmaking.
The sessions explore a range of forms: experimental feature film, short films, documentary, music video and artists’ moving image through practical workshops, screenings and talks by invited specialists working in the industry. The film school aims, above all, to demystify the process and industry and make it accessible to participants from backgrounds that are under-represented in the film industry. It enables participants to gain basic practical experience of camera work, learn how to navigate the film industry, understand and analyse film structure and grammar, and develop their own unique storytelling voice.
The film School will take place on Saturday 9, 16, 23 & 30 November & Saturday 7 December, 10am-6pm.
We are particularly interested in applicants from low-income backgrounds and those from black and ethnic minority communities, who are under-represented in museums and galleries.
To apply, please return a completed application and equal opportunities monitoring form to firstname.lastname@example.org by 6pm on Wednesday 18 September with the subject line: REcreative Film School Application 2019.
REcreative is supported by the SLG Council.
