Freelance Zine Editor

Freelance Magazine Editor

£2000 for first issue

Application deadline: February 25th 2019

Siobhan Davies Dance is inviting expressions of interest to edit our bi-annual magazine Material.

Material aims to add to the body of discourse on dance, building on our track record of publications including Who Cares? Dance in the Gallery & Museum and the catalogue for material / rearranged / to / be which were produced by the organisation.

We need an editor who can use innovative methods to help us tell our story and raise the profile of the artists we support as the organisation evolves into the future by identifying points of interest in our own programme and the wider sector. The editor will work with the artistic team to determine content plans for each issue, commission contributions from artists and commentators and lead the design, production and distribution process. We welcome expressions of interests from individuals with experience of print and digital editing in an arts context or from artists working in our sector who have proven experience of writing and publishing as part of their practice.

We are an artist-led organisation that advances the most compelling dance and choreography being made today. We connect artists and audiences through investigative, collaborative and interdisciplinary artistic activity at our studios and beyond.
