Brighton & Hove Music & Arts (BHMA) provides music and arts education and performance opportunities for all children and young people across the city.
The Our Future Music Leader Internship is designed to help someone who would like to work in the music industry or with young people, by offering a fixed-term opportunity to gain experience and skills in a paid role. We will give you on- the-job training in all aspects of music delivery and provide you with support towards your next move. No formal qualifications or experience are required, but an enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills is essential.
The Our Future Music Leader Intern will assist in the smooth running and delivery of a number of programmes across the South-East region as well as supporting the day to day administration for the regional Music Education Hub. They will mainly work in the Brighton & Hove area, but there may be some travel within Sussex.
The Our Future Music Leader Intern will be supported by BHMA to learn and develop new skills and experience in:
Music session delivery
Managing and supporting projects
Working with young people
Collaborating with partners
Communicating with a range of audiences, including via phone, email, blogs and social media
During this internship, they will also have opportunities to:
Develop evidence of work skills and experience
Sample different aspects of supporting music projects, such as marketing and music technology
Tailor aspects of the role and duties towards their individual skillset, experience and or interests.
