Southbank Centre’s Festival of Love 2016 Design Challenge
Creative & Cultural Skills, in partnership with Southbank Centre, are looking for young designers, artists and makers (aged 14 - 21) to be part of the Festival of Love Design Challenge.
Southbank Centre is the largest Arts Centre in Europe with a programme bursting with world class performers, musicians, poets, dancers, designers and artists.
Festival of Love is a large-scale summer festival that takes over the 21 acre riverside site with performances, exhibitions, and eye-catching installations. The site becomes a canvas, platforming exciting designers and artists all responding to the theme of the festival and the heritage of the site. Last year the site was filled with riverside installations, slides, gardens, fountains, a beach, pavilions, exhibitions, debates and public performances.
Creative & Cultural Skills, in partnership with Southbank Centre, are inviting inviting 14 - 21 year olds to submit their own installation designs inspired by Festival of Love, one of which will be fabricated into a physical installation onsite as part of Festival of Love 2016 and be experienced by millions of visitors across the summer.
Artist Talk: Exclusive to our education partners is an interactive talk by Sean Griffiths, architect and designer, who will be discussing the process of developing his well-received installation Sliding Gates, which featured in the 2014 Southbank Centre’s Festival of Love. This talk is in December (exact date TBC) at the Southbank Centre, Level 5 Function Room. There will be two time slots available at 10.30-11.30 and 1-2pm. Please click here to REGISTER YOUR INTEREST.
