Jane Gibson is Project Manager for Cumbria Museum Consortium, the Arts Council’s programme to make great arts, culture and heritage accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds across Cumbria.
With over thirty years experience working in the heritage sector, including as Heritage Project Manager at Hexham Abbey Heritage, Head of Historic Operations at Beamish Open Air Museum and several National Museums, she is passionate about the social, health and wellbeing benefits that active engagement with this sector can bring.
She has been a mentor supporting new professionals entering the sector for over twenty five years and is an Associate of the Museums Association.
She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Queens Hall Arts (with a special responsibility to advise on fundraising opportunities), a National Portfolio Organisation, based in Hexham, with a mission to provide high quality arts services that enrich communities and support artists, developing a creative future for all.
She also continues to provide fundraising support and advice to charitable organisations in Hexham on a voluntary basis.
