Derry City is renowned for the strength and extent of its arts presence, with North West Regional College making a sizable contribution to that reputation.

North West Regional College, based in Derry/Londonderry, UK City of Culture 2013, is a large (24,000 students), three-campus further and higher education college offering education and training programmes at levels 1 – 7 across a wide range of vocational areas.

In the School of Media, Multimedia and the Arts sits courses in music, music technology, drama, fine art, textiles, fashion, media, interactive media and journalism, and staff delivering courses in these disciplines are well qualified and industry experienced, with many still working as musicians, visual artists, designers, actors, live- sound engineers and playwrights. Accommodation and resources are of the highest quality.

A new college extension, completed for occupancy in September 2011 at a cost of over £18m provides a 21st century learning and teaching environment which reflects the college’s commitment to quality. This stunning new development includes a new 150-seat performance theatre equipped to the highest specification for lighting and sound, a dance studio, music recording studios, practice rooms and music technology Apple Mac computer suites.

These new facilities complement the current impressive art and design facilities that include digital print, digital animation and graphics Apple Mac studios, ceramics and textiles workshops, as well as general art and design studios.
