Help Musicians NI and Creative & Cultural Skills
This new collaboration aims to build the confidence and skills of young unemployed people in Northern Ireland who are interested in a career in the music industry.
Help Musicians UK (HMUK), the country’s leading independent music charity for over 95 years, is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with Creative and Cultural Skills.
Following the hugely successful launch of the Help Musicians Northern Ireland (HMNI) brand in November, the collaboration with Creative & Cultural Skills will support the Northern Ireland Creative Employment Scheme, a programme which is managed by Creative & Cultural Skillsand supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland National Lottery Fund.
The programme provides funding to employers for internships and apprenticeships within the sector and now HMNI will deliver match funding to those wishing to offer an internship in the music sector. A grant of £2,500 is available through the NI Creative Employment Scheme per application and HMNI has committed to match this with a further grant of £2,000 for up to 10 internships throughout 2017.
Bringing in the NI Creative Employment Programme at a time of economic downturn provides the extra help that employers need. Over the life of the programme, we hope employers will experience the real benefits of creating fairer entry routes and see the impact of generating a more diverse workforce. These are paid apprenticeships and internships challenging the culture of unpaid work and creating new entry level jobs.
Deadlines for applications are:
- 27 January 2017
- 7 April 2017
- 16 June 2017
Please note: You must apply through the Creative & Cultural Skills NI Creative Employment Programme.
