Creative & Cultural Skills Northern Ireland Awards 2018 take place in North West Regional College
The Creative & Cultural Skills Northern Ireland Awards 2018 are taking place today (6 December) in leadership college, North West Regional College (NWRC).
The day will feature performances from music and dance students, and film showreels, from Belfast Metropolitan College (Belfast Met) and from NWRC.
Hosted by comedienne and actress Nuala McKeever, the day will be a celebration of creative talent across Northern Ireland, and the educators and employers working to develop skills for the future.
The Northern Ireland Creative Employment Programme (NI CEP) is being celebrated too, as the programme reaches its third and final year. The NI CEP programme was designed to create paid internships and apprenticeships in creative organisations throughout Northern Ireland. After creating 89 positions, the first of its apprentices have now gained their qualifications, and have been invited to the ceremony to receive their certificates.
As well as the awards presentation, there will be an in-conversation piece with musician Hannah Richardson, band manager Mark Holden and creative consultant Suzanne Doyle, who has 30 years’ experience of working in the international music industry.
Attendees will also have the chance to hear from the young person’s panel, featuring young creatives who have recently left education to develop their creative careers.
