Nationwide Discover! Creative Careers Week launches in Birmingham

This morning in Birmingham we launched the brand-new initiative, Discover! Creative Careers Week, to encourage young people to consider a career in the creative industries launched. Discover! Creative Careers Week is backed by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport in England through the Creative Careers Programme, which we are leading alongside ScreenSkills and the Creative Industries Federation.








The programmes aims to help young people to build confidence, self-belief, teamwork, resilience and communication skills.

Colleges invited to sign up to this year’s Make Art Not War project

9 October 2019

Last year Creative & Cultural Skills worked with major cultural programme 14-18 NOW to deliver Make Art Not War, in which students in National Skills Academy FE Leadership Colleges were asked to respond to the provocation ‘What does peace mean to you?’ In the second stage of the programme all colleges UK-wide are welcome to take part.

Help shape the standards for Sound Recording and Music Technology

ScreenSkills is leading a review of the National Occupational Standards for Sound Recording and Music Technology. Recording artists, producers, sound technicians and anyone else with specialism in sound technology are invited to workshops across the UK to help shape best practice.




New ‘Pathfinder’ school opens in Cardiff

23 July 2019

Sarah Hughes, Head of Skills Academy Wales, attended the opening of Cardiff West Community High School. Through a contract with Cardiff Council, Creative & Cultural Skills acts as a ‘Cultural Broker’ for the school, developing opportunities through the Cardiff Creative Education Partnership.
